Mark Simpson Promoted at Big South Print E-mail

simpson-mark-bs.jpg Big South Conference Commissioner Kyle B. Kallander has promoted Mark Simpson to Assistant Commissioner, effective immediately. Simpson has spent the last four years as the Director of Public Relations.  In his role, Simpson has worked to enhance the Big South Conference’s overall public relations initiatives and serves as the primary contact for football, men’s basketball, baseball and men’s and women’s golf.  Simpson also coordinates the Big South Hall of Fame and serves as the administrative liaison for men’s and women’s golf.

2008 All-State Univ. Division Baseball Team Print E-mail

natefreiman.jpgWILMINGTON, N.C. – Twelve student-athletes, representing seven institutions, make up the fifth annual North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) University Division All-State baseball team released Wednesday.

Duke University infielder Nate Freiman (pictured) highlights this year’s team as the lone repeat honoree, having also garnered recognition in 2007.

Charlotte Hosted 2008 NCCSIA Meeting Print E-mail

rose-060408.jpg Charlotte, N.C. -- The North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information held its annual meeting at UNC Charlotte on Wednesday. Nearly 40 attendees were present. Judy Rose, athletics director at UNCC, welcomed the State's SIDs to the Queen City.
